Ms. Smith is an associate at Hamilton Miller & Birthisel. Ms. Smith represents hotels, physicians and medical providers, major cruise lines, product manufacturers and distributors, international businesses, transportation companies, underwriters, including major marine domestic and international underwriters in state and federal court.   She handles matters stemming from wrongful death, personal injury claims, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, mass tort and class actions, sexual assault claims, labor and employment, medical malpractice suits, product liability actions, excursion liabilities, negligent security claims, premises liability claims, and claims asserted under the Americans with Disabilities Act. 
Ms. Smith practices in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Directors and Officers Liability, Professional liability, and Insurance Coverage Litigation Prior to joining Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, Ms. Smith worked in a large Florida Defense Law Firm, and  as an attorney for the State of Florida Department of Children and Families.

Ms. Smith obtained her Juris Doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law in 2009 and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, with honors, from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica in 2006. Ms. Smith is admitted to the Florida Bar, as well as, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

Ms. Smith is actively involved in various voluntary bar associations including the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, Dade County Bar Association, Wilkie D Ferguson Jr., Bar Association, and Caribbean Bar Association. Ms. Smith also serves on the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Section Board of Governors as a representative for the 11th circuit.
