Annika E. Ashton is an Assistant County Attorney in the Broward County Attorney's Office. Ms. Ashton focuses her practice in the areas of transportation, federal litigation, and labor and employment. She defends the County in litigation alleging claims under Title VII, the FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and related state and local laws and advises the County in traditional labor matters. Ms. Ashton also represents the County's Transportation department on all legal matters including procurement, contract, and federal and state regulatory matters.

Prior to joining the County Attorney's Office, Ms. Ashton served as a law clerk for the Hon. Adalberto Jordan on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Ms. Ashton has also practiced in the Real Estate and Labor and Employment practice groups of international law firms in New York and Miami. Ms. Ashton is admitted to practice in Florida, New York, all federal district courts in Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Ms. Ashton earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School where she was Editor-in-Chief of the National Black Law Journal and was recognized as a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. Ms. Ashton earned an A.B. degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.

Ms. Ashton serves on the Florida Bar's Student Education & Admissions to the Bar Committee and was a member of the inaugural class of the Florida Bar's Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. She also conducts alumni interviews for Princeton University and is a member of the board of the Princeton Club of South Florida and the South Florida All Ivy Plus group.
